T.Rex+ Me was started in the Fall of 2005 by Tara Shannon. Tara had been making herself, and friends clothes for quite some time. She found making niece, and T.Rex+ Me model, Ashley mini versions of her designs was the most fun. Being a serious style seeker, Tara could never find Ashley any clothing that was stylish, funky and cute. Soon enough, the T.Rex+ Me idea emerged (T.Rex is Tara's nickname).

After studying Fashion Design at the University of Rhode Island, and several semesters at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Tara knew she wanted her designs to be summery, bright and happy. Kids have a no nonsense, laid back approach to life that is so appealing. T.Rex+ Me definitely tries to capture that spirit. At this point, T.Rex+ Me is a girl's clothing company, sizes 2-8. The line has a retro feel, yet never fails to stay up-to-date stylish and slightly edgy. Look for a boy's line possible in the future.
